Fira Barcelona Gran Via: Technical Stand Preparation

To prepare a stand at Fira Barcelona Gran Via, collect the booked floor plan, your event manual and the venue’s technical regulations. Check each proposal against those documents: height, access, services and approval conditions can depend on the hall, position and project.

This guide helps organise the technical review and responsibilities. Values from another show or a previous edition do not replace the conditions applicable to your participation.

Documents for Fira Barcelona Gran Via projects

Start with Fira de Barcelona’s participation regulations, which link the Gran Via technical regulations. Add the organiser’s specific manual, plot plan, service orders and approval correspondence.

Keep document versions and dates in the project folder. Identify who reviews the conditions, submits drawings and responds to requests. Before production, confirm that design changes appear in the relevant approved version.

Review the plot and its surroundings

  • Dimensions, open sides, columns and fixed features.
  • Permitted access and relationships with aisles and neighbouring stands.
  • Supply points and planned cable or pipe routes.
  • Equipment, counters, storage and meeting positions.
  • Installation conditions, floor protection and material removal.

Do not infer available height or loading capacity from a photograph or general map. Give the contractor actual equipment dimensions and weights to identify the checks needed.

Questions for the technical team

ElementConfirm for the project
Structures and heightsApplicable limits, documentation, calculations and approval process.
Suspended elementsRigging availability, points, loads, supplier and required documentation.
Materials and finishesRequired documentation, intended use and safety checks.
CirculationEntrances, doors, access and routes that must stay clear.
DemonstrationsEquipment, loads, movement, sound and operating conditions.

Assign each question to the responsible professional or supplier. A render does not establish technical compliance, and an approval from an earlier event should not be assumed valid for the next.

Coordinate power, data and other services

List lighting, screens, demonstration equipment and other loads. Specify positions, supply needs and operating hours. Confirm who orders the incoming service, who distributes it within the stand and who completes the relevant checks.

For a connected demonstration, define the required connection, devices and testing process. Do not assume a general-access network will support a critical task. Prepare an offline presentation alternative where practical.

If water, drainage, compressed air or another service is needed, confirm availability and conditions for your plot. Find prices, deadlines and documentation in the event’s current information.

Plan delivery, installation and dismantling

Agree access windows, credentials, transport, handling and temporary packing storage. Provide load dimensions and weights so the necessary equipment can be reviewed. A generic promise of three build-up days does not describe every event.

Arrange a pre-opening handover. Check graphics, furniture, products, access and equipment operation; record outstanding items and owners. Before dismantling, identify what will be returned, stored, reused or removed and who coordinates each task.

Make responsibilities visible in the quotation

Separate construction, venue services, transport, installation, support and dismantling. Mark optional work, exclusions, assumptions and change charges. Put service-order responsibilities in writing to prevent duplicate orders or missing services.

Share the event, hall, floor plan, current manual, activities, equipment and timetable with our Barcelona stand service to begin the project discussion.
