SIL Barcelona 2027: Stand Planning, Dates and Venue Checks

SIL Barcelona 2027 is announced for 9–11 June 2027. Plan your stand around the logistics solution you will demonstrate and the buyers you need to meet. Confirm the venue and hall directly in your booking documents: current official pages contain conflicting location information, so freight and technical planning need edition-specific confirmation.

SIL Barcelona 2027: confirmed dates and a venue check

The official SIL website announces 9–11 June 2027. The organiser’s 5 June 2026 closing announcement also gives those dates and describes the transition towards the Logistics Innovation Show. Confirm your participation format and current exhibitor information with the organiser.

Venue check, 12 October 2026: Fira de Barcelona’s calendar lists SIL 2027 at Gran Via, while the SIL location page still identifies Hall 8 at Montjuïc and displays opening-day references from the previous edition. Obtain written confirmation of the 2027 venue, hall, plot and delivery address before booking freight or approving venue-dependent drawings.

The regulation linked from the SIL website at this check is labelled 2026. Do not apply its prices, installation schedule or technical conditions automatically to 2027. This guide therefore avoids a fixed hall specification and a claimed official construction tariff for the new edition.

Use historical attendance figures carefully

The organiser’s closing announcement reports 15,412 visitors from 87 countries and more than 600 participating companies for 2026. It reports 93% of visitors as having decision-making involvement in their companies’ logistics activities. These are historical organiser figures, rather than a guarantee of the 2027 audience or enquiries to your stand.

Identify the visitor roles relevant to your offer: a software demonstration, storage system, transport service and automation component can involve different conversations. Use the current programme and participating-company information to prepare your own shortlist. The total scale of the show does not replace that assessment.

Set a measurable objective before designing: relevant demonstrations completed, scheduled meetings held or qualified technical enquiries. Decide how the team will record the conversation and agree a next step. Avoid treating every badge scan as a potential order.

Make the demonstration the starting point of the brief

Describe what the visitor will see and what the team must explain. For equipment, prepare dimensions, weight, operating mode, connection needs and the space required for safe observation. Ask the appropriate technical specialists to assess the proposed activity under the confirmed event and venue conditions.

For software, prepare a demonstration sequence using approved sample information. Test the display, connection and offline alternative. Position the presenter and visitor so both can see the screen without blocking circulation. A short, reliable demonstration can be more useful than several unattended screens.

For a transport or supply-chain service, select the evidence and scenarios that explain your actual capability. Do not turn a general service promise into an unsupported claim of universal coverage or delivery performance. Give the team a clear way to refer detailed operational questions to the right person.

Connect layout, meetings and technical services

Place the main proposition where visitors can identify its relevance from the aisle. Plan the approach, demonstration, conversation and exit with furniture and equipment at their real dimensions. Provide storage for cases, literature, personal belongings and replenishment materials.

Where longer discussions are central to the brief, assess a meeting area with appropriate seating and privacy. Where a demonstration creates a queue, plan waiting within the permitted footprint. The best balance depends on the activity, plot and event rules; it is not a universal requirement to leave a fixed number of sides open.

Exhibit typeInformation to give the stand team
Physical equipmentDimensions, weights, operating requirements, handling and specialist review needs.
Software or control systemScreen configuration, connectivity, sample data, presenter position and fallback.
Service presentationCustomer use cases, approved claims, meeting format and supporting material.
Mixed demonstrationSequence, responsibilities and how equipment, AV and visitors interact.

Confirm power, connectivity and other connections from an equipment list. Agree who specifies, orders, pays for and checks each service. Do not solve a missing supply by improvising extensions or changing the installation without the responsible technical team’s review.

Build a quotation around the complete scope

Request separate identification of event space and participation fees, stand design and production, graphics, furniture, equipment, transport, handling, installation, services, support and dismantling. Check taxes and exclusions. Where an organiser provides a package, identify what it already includes.

Compare modular, rental and custom proposals against the same activities. A modular system needs a viable configuration for the booked plot. A custom design may combine hired and reusable elements. The format alone does not establish a safe equipment installation or the lowest total cost.

The European exhibition budget guide helps structure the comparison. Obtain current project quotations; general European price ranges are not confirmed SIL 2027 tariffs. Include return freight, storage and adaptation if you plan to reuse components.

Plan freight after the venue and access are confirmed

Give the carrier the confirmed venue, hall, stand number, delivery instructions and receiving contact. Agree unloading, handling equipment and placement on the plot. Separate freight arrival from stand handover and leave room in the programme for positioning, connection and demonstration checks.

Identify the location of empty packaging and the arrangements for return collection. For international equipment movements, ask a qualified customs or freight specialist which procedure applies to the actual route and goods. The shipping and customs guide provides a preparation checklist.

Work backwards from the official 2027 approval, service and access deadlines once confirmed. Record decisions on design, artwork, production and transport, with a responsible person for each. Do not present a previous year’s move-in calendar as the current schedule.

Check delivery and prepare the commercial team

At handover, check the stand against the agreed scope and run the demonstration with the people who will operate it. Verify graphics, furniture, services, equipment, storage and usable routes. Record outstanding issues and confirm the contracted support contact and hours.

Prepare questions that help establish the visitor’s actual need without collecting unnecessary information. Agree how enquiries will enter your company’s follow-up process, including the appropriate privacy information. Send relevant material and assign an owner to the next step discussed.

After the event, review the cost and outcome of the participation against the original objective. Record the condition and destination of reusable components. Use those findings for the next edition, without assuming a date or cycle that the organiser has not announced.
