Three useful priorities for a FITUR visit are relevant meetings, specialist content and practical lessons from the exhibition floor. Choose them around a question you need to answer rather than trying to see every pavilion.
IFEMA lists the next FITUR for 20–24 January 2027. Check the official event website for current information. This guide helps professional visitors and exhibitors plan their time.
1. Put relevant meetings first
Decide which people or organisations can help with your objective: a distribution partner, destination representative, accommodation supplier or technology provider. Consult the current exhibitor catalogue and map through the official site. Do not assume that last year’s company or location remains unchanged.
Prepare a short reason for each meeting and the information you need afterwards. Allow time to move between appointments and record the host, stand and contact method. A full diary is useful only if the meetings fit your purpose and can be attended.
If you are exhibiting, provide a clear reception process for appointments and unplanned enquiries. Agree who handles each type of conversation and where a longer discussion can continue without interrupting a demonstration.
2. Choose specialist content that answers a real question
Use FITUR’s official areas and programme to investigate themes relevant to your work. Before adding a session, identify what you want to learn, who should attend and whether it requires separate access or registration. Check the edition and current schedule rather than carrying an old programme into a new year.
At this review, the 2027 activity page says the programme will be available later. Recheck when it is published before finalising sessions. The same page distinguishes professional days from the weekend public opening.
For a technology demonstration, prepare questions about the workflow, implementation, support and limits. For a destination meeting, ask for the products, contacts and conditions relevant to your market. Record what was actually demonstrated and what still needs confirmation.
3. Study stand design through what it enables
Observe how a visitor understands the offer, finds the right person, watches a presentation and moves through the space. Look beyond a striking photograph: can staff serve visitors, store materials and hold the intended meetings?
The official FITUR awards page provides past stand examples and explains the criteria used for recognition. Check the edition. Awards can inform a design discussion; they do not establish another exhibitor’s sales results or the budget needed for your project.
Write each observation as a testable requirement for your next brief. For example: “the demonstration needs a visible screen and a waiting position inside the plot.” This is more useful than requesting an unspecified copy of a large stand. Respect any photography or recording restrictions.
Before travelling to FITUR
Confirm admission, opening hours, entrances and current travel information with the organiser. Visitor opening is separate from contractor access. If you are responsible for a stand, obtain the exhibitor working schedule and service confirmations as well.
Keep the plan manageable: essential meetings, selected content and time to inspect relevant exhibits. Share it with colleagues so they know who owns each question and appointment.
Turn the visit into useful follow-up
After each substantive conversation, note the requested information, responsible colleague and next step. Use contact details through your organisation’s normal privacy process. After the fair, deliver what you promised and review the outstanding decisions.
If the visit informs a future stand, combine the observations with your allocated plan, activities, equipment, budget and approval contacts. Share that brief with Adam Expo Stand to discuss a proposal grounded in your requirements.
Frequently asked questions
Should I plan around the previous year’s map?
Use it only as historical context. Confirm companies, locations and access in the current official information.
Does a visitor ticket include stand working access?
Do not assume so. Confirm the appropriate accreditation and access conditions for the work you will perform.
Is an award-winning design a template for my stand?
It can provide ideas. Your plot, offer, activities, technical requirements and budget determine what is appropriate.
