Exhibiting at RAI Amsterdam in 2026: What You Need to Know
RAI Amsterdam is the Netherlands’ largest exhibition and convention centre, with around 116,200 m2 of exhibition space across 12 halls, 70 conference and meeting rooms, and two auditoriums (RAI Amsterdam). If you are planning a stand at a show like IBC, ISE’s former home, or one of the many international trade fairs the venue hosts, this guide covers what an exhibitor needs to brief a stand builder and budget accurately.
Which major trade fairs take place at RAI Amsterdam?
RAI hosts a broad calendar of international B2B events across broadcast, technology, healthcare, maritime and consumer sectors. IBC, the broadcast and media technology convention, returns from 11 to 14 September 2026 with more than 1,300 exhibitors and around 43,000 visitors (IBC). Note one important change for planning: Integrated Systems Europe (ISE), for years RAI’s flagship AV show, relocated to Fira Barcelona Gran Via in 2022 and is no longer held in Amsterdam. If your AV team is planning for ISE, that stand build now happens in Barcelona, not Amsterdam.
How much does an exhibition stand at RAI Amsterdam cost?
Stand costs at RAI depend on stand type, size and how much of the build is custom. As defensible ranges for the Amsterdam market: a quality modular stand of 9 to 18 m2 typically runs 3.500 to 9.000 EUR; a custom modular build with branded graphics of 18 to 36 m2 runs roughly 12.000 to 30.000 EUR; and a larger custom build of 36 m2 and above starts around 30.000 EUR and rises with structural complexity, double-deck elements and AV integration.
The costs first-time exhibitors most often miss at RAI are the ones outside the stand itself: mandatory venue services, electrical connection and consumption, rigging and suspension points, stand cleaning, waste handling, and Wi-Fi or wired connectivity. Budget for these separately from the stand build so the quote you compare between suppliers is like for like.
Custom vs modular: which is right for a RAI stand?
For exhibitors attending one or two shows a year with a distinctive brand to project, a custom build gives the strongest visual impact and full control over the visitor journey. For teams exhibiting across several European venues, a modular system reused across shows lowers the cost per event and simplifies logistics. Many exhibitors at RAI choose a hybrid: a reusable modular core dressed with show-specific custom graphics and a feature wall.
RAI build-up, logistics and venue rules
RAI operates within official build-up and breakdown schedules set per show, and access to the halls for construction is booked in slots. Working with a builder that already knows the venue’s technical requirements, loading procedures and health-and-safety rules removes a common source of last-minute cost and delay. As an operator that builds across major European venues, our teams coordinate directly with the venue’s technical department on power, rigging and access so the exhibitor does not have to manage those interfaces alone.
How far in advance should you brief a stand builder?
For a custom stand at RAI, brief your builder 10 to 14 weeks before the show to allow time for 3D design, sign-off, production and logistics. Modular builds can be delivered faster, and we run a rapid programme for shorter timelines, but earlier briefing always buys better design refinement and calmer logistics. Bring your floor-plan dimensions, brand guidelines, and a short list of must-haves (meeting space, storage, demo areas) to the first conversation.
