MATELEC 2026: Electrical Demonstrations and Stand Planning

MATELEC 2026 takes place on 24–26 November at IFEMA Madrid. The official event website identifies the three-day edition within the International Week of Electrification and Decarbonisation alongside GENERA. Confirm your participation, plot and current exhibitor instructions before ordering the stand.

For electrical and electronics exhibitors, a useful stand connects the product explanation with its actual operating requirements. A lighting control, switchgear display and charging-system demonstration need different equipment, services and visitor arrangements.

Start with the demonstration specification

For each product, identify what visitors should understand and what will be shown: a static sample, guided simulation or operating equipment. Write the starting conditions, action, visible result and next technical question. Label simulated or recorded material accurately.

Give the designer dimensions, weight, support points, connections, handling needs and access for maintenance. Ask the equipment supplier and competent technical specialists to define electrical requirements, operating separation, cooling and other relevant conditions. Marketing images do not replace these specifications.

Do not improvise a shared electrical circuit from a general planning article. Have the responsible electrical supplier specify the distribution for the actual loads, equipment and applicable event conditions.

Prepare demonstrations for the product category

Lighting and controls: define the scenes, surfaces and viewing positions needed to understand the difference. Test glare, contrast and the effect of surrounding hall lighting. Explain the test conditions rather than presenting a staged comparison as a universal result.

Building automation: choose a clear workflow, such as a sensor input and a visible control response. Identify which devices and connections are required and use a demonstration environment with approved data.

Charging, distribution and industrial equipment: clarify whether the equipment will operate, be opened for explanation or remain static. Confirm handling, support, services and visitor access before integrating it into the structure.

Energy performance: prepare the evidence, measurement conditions and limitations behind any displayed claim. Ask your product team to approve comparisons and payback assumptions. A stand design does not substantiate an energy-saving percentage.

Check the booked package and venue requirements

Obtain the allocated plan, participation offer and current manual. Confirm open sides, restrictions, permitted activities and included services. The organiser controls availability and allocation; a builder cannot promise a particular position.

Review the IFEMA participation regulations alongside MATELEC instructions. Assign responsibility for drawings, structural or material documentation, electrical review, service orders and approvals. Record written confirmations for the actual design.

Confirm heights, suspended elements, floor loading, machinery access and operating requirements where relevant. Prior experience or a contractor’s access arrangements do not establish approval for every stand or demonstration.

Compare complete proposals

Separate space rental or the organiser package from design and construction. Ask suppliers to price the same brief and show design, fabrication, graphics, flooring, furniture, lighting, AV, transport, installation and dismantling.

Identify electrical connections and distribution, data, handling, empty packaging, cleaning, technical support, storage, taxes and exclusions. Confirm who orders and pays for each service. Area alone does not provide a reliable total price.

Compare modular, custom and package options against your equipment and future programme. Include adaptation, repairs, storage and transport when assessing reuse. No format guarantees a fixed saving or commercial return.

Build the schedule from confirmed deadlines

As preparation proceeds in October, check unresolved booking, design, approval and service tasks with the organiser and suppliers. Do not assume a suggested months-long timeline is an official deadline or that a late order will be accepted.

Assign an owner to each decision, production file, shipment and service. Coordinate equipment delivery with installation and testing. Keep the current manual, approved drawings, order references and support contacts available to the team.

Prepare the people and follow-up

Identify the visitor roles relevant to your product and the questions each may bring. Brief staff on specifications, approved claims, demonstration limits and who handles specialist questions. Plan reception, demonstrations and longer discussions around actual capacity.

Use the organiser’s current programme and available meeting tools to arrange relevant conversations. Invite target accounts with a specific topic and proposed appointment. Do not assume access to a visitor database or a guaranteed number of meetings.

Record the visitor’s need, promised information, owner and next action through your organisation’s privacy process. Review completed demonstrations, qualified conversations, opportunities and closed business separately against total cost.

Handover before opening

Check the installed stand against the approved plan. Test the actual equipment, approved content, lighting, services and fallback presentation with the responsible specialists. Review circulation and meeting positions. Record faults and their owner before accepting handover.
